Eric focuses his practice on criminal defense, representing clients throughout southwest Minnesota. He approaches each case with a client-first focus, using litigation, advocacy, and client counseling to guide clients through a difficult process and stand up for them when it matters.
Eric is a member of the Minnesota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National College for DUI Defense. He completed DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing training recognized by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, qualifying as an SFST practitioner, and regularly handles DWI cases.
In addition to his criminal defense practice, Eric represents clients in juvenile delinquency proceedings, protective orders (OFP/HRO), guardianships, and select civil matters.
Originally from Tempe, Arizona, Eric has strong ties to the Marshall area. He attended Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU), where he earned a degree in Justice Administration and was a member of the Mustang football team, receiving recognition as the SMSU Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He later earned a Master’s degree in Education/Sports Leadership from SMSU and his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law.
Eric remains involved in the community through his work with the Lincoln-Lyon County Treatment Court, coaching youth soccer with the Marshall United Soccer Association, and involvement with Marshall Leadership Academy. He lives in Marshall with his wife and their two sons.
